Nostradamus 2012
Nostradamus
Nostradamus made many great predictions in his life, some have come true and others have not. His works warn us of a very dark future where comets hit earth, the sun's heat cooks fish in the water and gravity acts unnaturally.
Science behind it
Nostradamus was a prophet that made predictions about the future in a book with seven symbolic drawings and a book called The Prophecies which contains hundreds of quatrains. He was an occultist who was supposedly demon possessed and used divination to come up with his prophecies.
In the hundreds of quatrains he wrote throughout his life, they all send out a dire warning of what is to come. Some of his quatrains talk about years from 1992, 2012 to 2014 and the major disasters that will occur in that time period. The degree to Nostradamus's validity completely depends on how the quatrains are interpreted.
This quatrain for example, can have more than one interpretation.
"In the year 1999, in the seventh month,
from the sky will come the great King of Terror,
bringing back to life the great King of the Mongols.
Before and after, Mars to reign by good fortune."
Many people believed that this meant that a comet "king of terror" would hit earth in July 1999. When this did not occur it was concluded that Nostradamus's quatrain made a false prediction. However, if another one of his quatrains is added to the one above then some validity appears.
"Earth-shaking fire from the center of the earth.
will cause the towers around the New City to shake,
Two great rocks for a long time will make war,
And then Arethusa (a ship) will color a new river red."
Then It could be said that 1999 is an anagram in which if you switch the "9"'s for the "1"'s then you get 9-11-1 which is the date of the 911 attack in United States. The "towers around the new city" could be interpreted as the twin towers in New York City and the reference to war could predict that this shake of the towers would cause the Iraqi war.
Viewed in this light, Nostradamus made a highly accurate prediction of the 911 attacks and thus his quatrains have some credibility to them. Whether Nostradamus is accurate or not all boils down to how his quatrains are interpreted.
If his quatrains are considered highly accurate then we have a lot to worry about. The lost book of Nostradamus shows the tree of life being smashed by a club and the book of life being completely empty. This would mean that if Nostradamus really was predicting our future then according to his book, life is going to end very soon.
Should we worry
Are Nostradamus's quatrains general enough that some historical event could be interpreted from at least a couple of them or are they highly accurate but simply hard to interpret since they were written in a different time? Whether you should worry or not should depend on this question.
Worst case scenario
Nostradamus's predictions could all turn out to be true. A comet could hit earth in 2012 causing massive destruction to earth's surface. Animals in our ocean could die from heat from the sun and great famines could cause wars to arise. In the end a pole reversal could occur which could causes gravity to act in a way we have never experienced before.
Nostrdamus wrote hundreds of quatrains predicting unspeakable disasters to occur in our days. If all of his theories come true than expect a world full of chaos and disaster in the near future.
Best case scenario
Nostradamus turns out be a wacko druggist who made wild predictions which we once believed to be true but turned out be all false in the end.
Advice
Some believe that the empty book of life doesn't mean the end of our world. It means that the future is unwritten and that we have to make a choice of whether to believe Nostrdamus's warnings or wait to see what happens when it is too late to save ourselves.
